Arm Lift in the Boston Area

Brachioplasty

Arm lift in the Boston area

A brachioplasty removes excess skin and/or fat between the underarm and elbow. Sometimes referred to as "bat wings", this condition occurs most commonly to postmenopausal women and those who have lost significant amounts of weight, either through bariatric surgery or exercise. Dr. Pap offers arm lift surgery to women and men in the Boston area so that they can feel better about themselves and helps them feel more comfortable wearing more flattering and form fitting clothing that they may have previously avoided.

Getting Started

Are you ready to find out if ear surgery could be right for you? Request a consultation online with Dr. Stephen Pap or call our office at 508.647.6747.

Improvements from Arm Lift

An arm lift reshapes the underarm area and removes excess fat and skin. The result is a leaner, smoother and tighter upper arm silhouette.

What to Expect

Dr. Pap performs arm surgery under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. Incisions may be placed on the inside of the arm, and may extend to the armpit, depending upon your unique anatomy and the amount of excess skin. Post-surgical compression garments are worn for some weeks to help prevent swelling and to help maintain the leaner shape of the arm. A drain may also be necessary to collect excess fluids and prevent fluid buildup. Patients may go home the day of surgery but it is necessary to have an escort drive you home and a partner or spouse is recommended to help you at home with daily living activities for a few days. You must avoid sun exposure or use sunscreen after the wounds have healed for 6 - 12 months to minimize discoloration of scars and help with healing.
